July has hit which means the sporting season is in full force including one of our all time favourites; the esteemed Wimbledon tournament. So Wise Bartender have decided to usher you along in your event planning by providing you with some amazing strawberry-themed cocktails, celebrating the official food of this annual tennis triumph.
But we are just your ball-boys. You are the ones who will be making a racquet. Whether you choose to present these cocktails as singles or doubles, your home crowd will be roaring with excitement as you sit back and enjoy the match.
Strawberry Rac-quiri
We’re starting with a recipe that incorporates strawberry in a very traditional way, but is still perfect for swigging in Wimbledon weather. Your guests will rejoice when you serve them up this Strawberry Rac-quiri recipe fit for the champions.
One of the joys of a traditional strawberry daiquiri is that you can serve it either fresh or frozen. Our Rac-quiri is fresh and fruity, but we’ve also chosen the blended route for a bigger chill, so get your blender ready, grab your punnet of strawberries and prepare for a drink that’s a true crowd pleaser.
Ingredients:
- 60ml CleanCo Clean R Rum Alternative Alcohol Free Spirit
- 30ml simple/sugar syrup
- 15ml lime juice
- A handful of large strawberries
- 250g crushed ice
- Strawberries for garnish
Recipe:
- Add the rum, syrup, lime juice, ice and strawberries to your blender
- Blend until smooth
- Pour into a chilled margarita glass and top with fresh strawberries. Sliced or whole, your choice
- Serve
Tip top tipple advice: For an additional burst of sweetness, dust the glass rims with sugar.
Strawberry Pimms
This would not be a strawberry themed Wimbledon blog without its signature summer sipper: Pimms. But we’ve upped the ante and really driven home the summer message with an extra punch of strawberry with more strawberries on top, taking Strawberry’s current score from 15-love to game point.
We’re not quite sure who it’s playing against but we’re certainly on its side.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- Strawberry ice cubes
-
100ml Anon Alcohol Free English Garden Spirit
- 300ml Square Root Lemonade Can
-
1 tbsp MONIN Strawberry Syrup
- Strawberry slices
- Cucumber slices
- Basil
- More strawberries as garnish
Recipe:
- Add the strawberry ice cubes, fresh strawberries, cucumber slices and a few sprigs of basil to a pitcher
- Add the strawberry syrup and English Garden Spirit. Stir until combined
- Top with lemonade
- Garnish your glasses with a fresh strawberry
- Pour your Strawberry Pimms into your now garnished glasses
- Serve
Tip top tipple advice: If that’s not enough strawberry for you, then we’d recommend putting a strawberry tablecloth down and listening to Strawberry Fields Forever. Even we’ll admit that any more in the Pimms might be a sickly sweet mistake.
Spiked Strawberry Milkshake
The official food of Wimbledon is strawberries and cream and we were thinking, what if you could drink strawberries and cream? Well, the drink savvy readers among you may have noticed that with a strawberry milkshake, you absolutely can. But, because we are bartenders, this drink simply wouldn’t be fit for our audience without a generous helping of alcohol-free whiskey.
Whether you’re watching the tournament from your living room, having a barbecue to commemorate yet another wonderful Wimbledon season or trying your hand at tennis in your own garden, you can rely on this decadent treat to bring a smile to your face.

Ingredients:
- Strawberry ice cream
- CleanCo Clean W Whisky Alternative Alcohol Free Spirit
- Milk
- Plenty of crushed ice
- Handful of fresh strawberries
Recipe:
- Combine the ice cream, a splash of milk, whiskey alternative and strawberries in a glass
- Add the ice and pulse until the consistency is to your liking
- Pour into glasses and garnish with a couple of fresh strawberries for good measure
- Because this is Wimbledon and we need an extra dash of creamy goodness, top with whipped cream if this is to your taste
Remember, don’t restrict yourself with the garnish. Milkshakes are all about indulgence so if you wish to add an extra helping of strawberry powder, chocolate sauce or even cake slices, then layer it up.
Strawberry Spritzer
We’ve given you a lot of strawberry content so far in this blog, and whilst it might have been our intention to do so, we’re also aware that strawberries are often much more refreshing when combined with herbs. This creates a far more mature flavour, but also takes the edge off the sweetness, making it ideal as an overall summer beverage.
And we’ve specially chosen a glorious french white wine for our Spritzer recipe to celebrate the French origins of tennis as we head to its trademark, globally renowned tournament. A tenuous link, but a link nonetheless.

Ingredients:
- Moderato Alcohol Free Bulle Sparkling Wine
- Fresh strawberries
- Plenty of basil
- Ice cubes
Recipe:
- Place a small saucepan over a low heat and add the strawberries and basil
- Leave to soften for 5 minutes and then crush to release the juices and help infuse with the basil flavour
- Leave until the texture of a puree and strain through a sieve into a jug. Leave to cool
- Ad a few ice cubes to your glasses and pour over the sparkling wine
- Add your strawberry basil puree and give it a quick stir to combine
- Serve
- Tip top tipple advice: We recommend giving this cocktail a few practice goes before serving it to your guests to ensure you get the perfect balance of basil and strawberry for your tastebuds.
