Alcohol Free Drinks for Your Rugby World Cup Event

With the Rugby World Cup well and truly underway, fans and enthusiasts around the globe are gathering for one of the most thrilling and captivating sporting events of the year. While the camaraderie, electrifying matches, and cheers of victory are essential components of any World Cup event, the choice of drinks can make or break the atmosphere.

So Wise Bartender has put together our best pitch for drinks you should be tackling as our home team tries for triumph.

Muddy Mary

It’s no secret that Rugby is one of the muddiest sports out there, but this is a cocktail that should be enjoyed firmly away from the scrum.

The Muddy Mary effect has been created by introducing a generous glug of beef stock, and you don’t want to tarnish the sumptuously soupy sapor by introducing real mud to the mix - that is best left on the pitch and the kit of the players. So keep yourself in the seats of your home, and give this drill-iant drink a winning try.

Ingredients:

• 100ml Seedlip Spice 94
  
• 400ml tomato juice
  
• 100ml beef stock
  
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
  
• A few glugs of Worcestershire sauce
  
• A few glugs of Tabasco
  
• 2 sticks of celery
  
• A sprinkle of chilli
  
• Crushed ice
  
• 2 lime wedges
  
• Black olives

Recipe:

1. Throw a large handful of ice into a jug
   
2. Add the vodka, tomato and lemon juice, and stock to the jug
   
3. Shake in the Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco to your taste
   
4. If you fancy, stir in a pinch of pepper to season the tomato juice
   
5. Stir everything together until the sauce dissolves
   
6. Taste, and alter the ingredients if you wish
   
7. Strain into 2 tall glasses
   
8. Garnish by adding a celery stick, olives and lime wedge to each glass and finish with a generous sprinkling of chilli

Sc-rum Runner

• 30ml Lyre's Non-Alcoholic White Cane Spirit
  
• 30ml Lyre's Non-Alcoholic Dark Cane Spirit 
  
• 15ml MONIN Yellow Banana Syrup
  
• 15ml Whitley Neill Alcohol Free Raspberry Spirit
  
• 60ml pineapple juice
  
• 15ml orange juice
  
• Fresh fruit to garnish
  

Recipe:

1. Combine the rums, banana syrup, raspberry spirit, pineapple juice and orange juice in a cocktail shaker or large jug with plenty of ice.
   
2. Add a few cubes of ice to a tumbler
   
3. Strain your AF cocktail mix over the ice
   
4. Garnish with a pineapple slice, fresh slice of orange and cherry
