5 Ways to Drink Alcohol-Free Rum

5 Ways to Drink Alcohol-Free Rum

Sometimes we don’t like to admit it but rum is a drink that is often stereotyped with beachy cocktails and university house parties but this rich, welcoming drink has so much to offer. From white and dark rum to spiced and fruity alternatives, alcohol free rum lends itself to a broad range of occasions, weathers and party crowds and Mai Tais are just the tip of the crushed iceberg.

So settle in and prepare your liqueur cupboard as Wise Bartender explores 5 fantastic ways to drink alcohol-free rum.

1. On the Rocks

Although alcohol free rum is super versatile and the varying flavours can be used in a wide variety of cocktails, it is also a spot on spirit to drink solo.

Quite like AF whisky, rum can be sampled both on the rocks or neat, depending on your preference. At Wise Bartender, we like to live it up a little and make sure our rum is fine and chilled with a few cubes of ice - refreshing!

Whether you choose to follow our lead or drink solo rum your way, we can only recommend the best flavours on the market, which is why we propose smoke and spice and all things nice.

Caleño Alcohol Dark & Spicy Alcohol Free Rum Spirit is bold and complex, rich with tropical flavours like pineapple, lime and coconut that are brought to life with a dash of spice and so perfect you won’t want to water it down with mixers.

In fact, we really wouldn’t blame you if you did want to drink this one neat.

2. Virgin Cuba Libre

Popular across generations and sometimes known simply as the ‘rum and coke’, the virgin Cuba Libre is a classic and incredibly easy to throw together. If you want to experience a little bit of Cuba without the complicated ingredients and recipes that come hand in hand with certain cocktails.

What does make a Cuba Libre so different to a regular rum and coke, we hear you ask. It’s simple: a little bit of lime juice. Can lime juice really make that much difference to a drink? Yes it can by bringing the sour twang.

Ingredients:

Recipe:

  1. Squeeze ¼ lime juice into a highball glass
  2. Fill the glass with ice cubes
  3. Pour 1 part rum and top up with 2 parts cola
  4. Stir to combine

3. Hot Buttered Rum

Exquisite for indulging on autumn evenings or as a warming winter treat, Hot Buttered Rum is a stark contrast to the cool, refreshing flavours experienced in AF rum on ice. Because why should such a special drink be reserved for one palette?

Hot, sweet and toasty, this delectable drink will leave your senses tingling.

Ingredients:

100ml Rebels Dark Spice Alcohol Free Rum Alternative
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp melted butter
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks

Recipe:

Combine the sugar and spices in a bowl
Gradually add the melted butter and rum
Pour the mixture into 2 mugs
Top with boiling water and stir to combine
Garnish with a cinnamon stick or some froth

The non-alcoholic Bushwacker cocktail is a grown up milkshake that people of all ages can enjoy. Laced with coffee liqueur and packed to the brim with creamy coconutty goodness, this tipsy tipple goes hand in hand with summer afternoons and rich chocolatey desserts.

And, all you really need to make it is a blender and a few glasses.
