Alcohol Free Adnams Ghost Ship

Ghost Ship Alcohol Free has docked! It has all the same flavours and aromas as Ghost Ship 4.5% but is no apparition, treating pale ale lovers to 100% of the taste at 0.5% abv - spooky!

Fergus Fitzgerald, Head Brewer at Adnams explains:

 "Over the past few years we looked at lots of different ways of making low alcohol beers, the reverse osmosis method gave by far the best tasting beer. It allows us to brew and ferment as normal and then at cold temperatures remove the alcohol whilst leaving the other flavours of the fermentation in the beer. It's all very high tech magic allowing our Ghost Ship to sail away free from alcohol but remaining full of its original flavours and aromas".

How is this low sugar and what about the carbs?
As defined by governmental guidelines ow sugar means the drink contains less than 2.5g of sugar per 100mls. Products with a higher sugar content cause a spike in insulin and we react by storing more carbs as fat. You may also notice that although lower in sugar there is some carbs, this is usually more complex forms of sugar such as starches and fibre and the body uses these for energy.

How is this product Vegan Friendly?
The drink is free from any animal products or derivatives. In addition the bottle, label and glue is also free from animal products.

Alcohol Free Beers are made just like the alcoholic ones with water, yeast, hops and barley. Some are brewed to a lower ABV and some have the alcohol removed through various techniques. Across Europe beers below 0.5% ABV are classed as alcohol free. In the UK drinks that are between 0.05% and 0.5% ABV are classed as non-alcoholic.
